He joins Michael Josem, the recently promoted Public Relations Head, in reporting directly to Eric Hollreiser, Head of Corporate Communications for Poker Stars. “I love poker and I love being part of the broader poker community,” said Jones. “This new role will allow me to serve as the community’s representative to PokerStars as well as PokerStars’ representative to the poker community.”
Jones had four years as Cardroom Manager for PokerStars before moving to the European Poker Tour. He then spent a short time as Chief Operating Officer for Cardrunners subsequent to working as Cardroom Manager for Cake Poker. He returned to PokerStars in 2010 as its Head of Home Games and is also known as the author of Winning Low-Limit Hold‘Em and as a poker commentator on radio and television.
“Lee has been a long-time poker evangelist and there are few people in the industry who can match his passion, knowledge and experience,” said Hollreiser. “In this role, Lee will focus full-time on using his knowledge and experience to engage audiences in forums, media, events, blogs and internally, infusing in all of us his passion and love for the game.”
