What is the evaluation of recent 2012?
I think 2012 was the "year of the comeback" for gaming globally. There was a lot of growth and new gaming activity around the world. In 2012 we also saw a renewed sense of optimism in gaming. For BMM, as a key vendor supporting this effort it was a record year! We are honored and delighted to be a "mission critical" service provider to the gaming industry worldwide. As the oldest and most experienced testing and certification lab in the world, we are uniquely positioned to continue this role into 2013 and beyond.
What were the main challenges that you had to face within your major markets?
We are always improving our customer service and service delivery efficiency. These goals are accomplished in a few ways:
- Qualified, skilled professionals - people are our most important asset. We continue to grow our team of professionals to emphasize and maximize customer service as well as the efficiency of the services we provide.
- New Headquarters. In 2012 we moved into a new worldwide headquarters which has help us serve our customers and key stakeholders much better than ever before.
- Better and more consistent procedures and policies. We continue to streamline our organization for maximum efficiency. A critical requirement as we grow quickly.
In your opinion, what was the most outstanding novelty (positively or negatively)?
Online/Interactive gaming is here to stay in the Americas. In 2012 we took on more and more projects in this segment. This segment continues to grow in leaps and bounds and we look forward to supporting its continued proliferation. Online/Interactive gaming is good for the industry and good for the jurisdictions that allow it to be offered in a regulated, responsible fashion.
What was the most innovative product or service launched this year by your company?
BMM continues to create and release many software tools to simplify complex compliance matters for our clients and key stakeholders. This is an ongoing process.
In your opinion, what is the country with the highest growth potential for next year and why?
I see growth throughout all of Latin America. There is clearly great continued demand for legalized casino gaming in this growing region. Specifically Peru, Argentina and Mexico among others should see great benefit from this trend.
How do you picture the gaming industry in 2013? Will it be similar to this year? Will there be a growth or slowdown?
In 2013, I see more growth. The global economy is picking up and projects are starting to gain momentum around the world. BMM looks forward to continuing to support what will certainly be an aggressive growth agenda. This is not only for casino gaming, but for other types of gaming such as lottery, VLTs and others.
What are your company's plans for 2013?
We will continue to build off of an extremely successful 2012. We will keep earning the client's and jurisdiction's trust by delivering world-class quality and leadership in the area of gaming equipment certification. We also have an ambitious agenda on the educational content side. We intend to partner more and more with regulators and clients to offer our technical expertise and know-how to assist the various jurisdictions with their plans. 2013 is the year BMM helps you grow and flourish!!!
