(UK, exclusive Yogonet.com).- “Despite a challenging economic and commercial environment, 2012 has been an exceptionally strong year for Quixant,” said Gary Mullins, Sales Director of the firm. He made a balance of the current year and talked about the products launched by the company and the main challenges it had to face in its major markets.

What is the balance of 2012?
Despite a challenging economic and commercial environment, 2012 has been an exceptionally strong year for Quixant and we are delighted with the growth in the business we have achieved, which has been well in excess of our forecast. The launch of our QX-40 and QXi-4000 products has been a resounding success and has been a pivotal point in delivering the strong revenue growth we have experienced.
We continue to invest heavily in the business and over the year have strengthened our presence in the USA, doubled the headcount in our software support team and moved to new, larger facilities for our headquarters in Cambridge, UK. We continue to put product innovation at the heart of the business and have been working on a number of exciting projects which will be introduced to the market over 2013 and into 2014.

What were the main challenges the firm had to face in its major markets?
The headwinds brought about by almost all Western governments tightening their belts has no doubt to some extent diminished our customers’ ability to install new machines and update existing machines in the field. The uncertainty over changes in regulation, particularly in the Italian Comma 6a+ market, has been a challenge to navigate.

In your opinion, what was the most outstanding news or novelty (positive or negative)?
During the development of the QX-40, it became evident that supply of DisplayPort 1.2 monitors which supported the innovative multi-streaming transport (MST) architecture (enabling multiple screens to be run over a single cable) was incredibly limited.
Despite the fact that this decelerated the testing phase of the project, we took the opportunity to develop our own DisplayPort monitor range designed exclusively for the gaming industry which supports MST technology. These monitors enable our customers to get the most out of our QX-40 and QXi-4000 platforms.

What was the most innovative product or service launched this year by your company?
The QX-40 and QXi-4000 were undoubtedly the major product launches this year. Based on the AMD Embedded R-Series APU, they offer a significant increase in available graphics and processor performance and more flexibility in how developers use the hardware resources to drive their games.

The products are also an evolution of Quixant’s ecosystem of products, with the addition of the Quixant DisplayPort monitor range which was primarily driven by a need to support the features of the QX-40 and QXi-4000.

We are proud of the extensive development which has gone into the launch of our PCI Express based gaming logic which is integrated into the QX-40 and QXi-4000 and not only significantly improves available throughput, but also introduced exciting new features to make development of games on our platforms more straightforward.

In your view, which is the country with the highest growth potential for next year and why?
The North American market remains a key focus for us and we believe this will provide the bedrock for growth in 2013. We have a hugely diverse base of customers spanning from Venezuela to Philippines, so there are also lots of other opportunities which may unfold which could bring about some surprises in growth!

How do you see 2013 for the gaming industry in general? Will it be similar to this year? Will there be a growth or slowdown?
We don’t expect to see any radical shifts in the gaming industry in 2013, with the ebb and flow of market opportunities, often driven by government regulatory change, continuing. We are expecting trading conditions to continue to be challenging and somewhat muted by the difficult economic circumstances faced by most Western countries.
