Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, Jumbo Interactive recently signed a long-term deal that will see it become an official online and mobile retailer for Mexico’s Loteria Nacional and Pronosticos products while additionally acquiring 6% of lottery systems and games provider Sorteo Games Incorporated’s issued shares.
Brisbane-based Jumbo Interactive stated that Lotto Points Plus is a 50/50 partnership that will market a ‘unique lottery retailer solution’ to existing retailers with the goal of increasing sales. It is set to provide the joint venture with ‘new technologies’ while Retail Gaming Solutions will supply in-store lottery merchandising alongside affinity and loyalty programmes.
“Jumbo is providing its interactive lottery technology as a key component to a service helping traditional lottery retailers increase their lottery sales,” said Mike Veverka, CEO for Jumbo Interactive. “This joint venture is an ideal way to establish a presence in the United States and demonstrate the capabilities of our system.”
Jumbo Interactive revealed that a distribution and implementation programme for Lotto Points Plus has already commenced with one of America’s largest convenience store lottery distributors due to roll out its solution to a network of over 15,000 independent venues across several northeastern states beginning next month. In addition, the firm said that a pilot programme recently completed with one of the nation’s leading ticket retailers produced a ‘significant increase’ in sales.
“Based on these results, Lotto Points Plus is in final negotiations for a full phased rollout of the Lotto Plus Points programme across a wider single retailer network of several hundred retail outlets across several northeast states,” read a statement from Jumbo Interactive.
Jumbo Interactive is set to fund the expansion of New York-based Lotto Plus Points with a us$ 250,000 loan and will supply technology including online and mobile lottery software in addition to its E-Retailer commission sharing system and Smart Signs interactive sign technology.
“Retail Gaming Solutions is excited to work with Jumbo Interactive to create this best-of-breed lottery retailing solution designed to unlock potential and increase lottery sales,” said Jeff Perlee from Retail Gaming Solutions.
