What do you think about SAGSE 2012? How have you seen the show?
SAGSE is an important show and we are committed to continue assisting there. This year was different to previous editions. We noted the customers’ concern on the imports restriction. Some manufacturers decided not to come and that’s why the event was smaller. Now, more than ever, providers must be present together with the operators, and seek for solutions. Anyway, the event was a great success for GPI.
How do you evaluate the quality of the visitors?
Although there were less people, we were very satisfied with the quality of the visitors. There were visitors from everywhere, but, as always, it seems they came an 80% from Argentina and the others from Chile, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay. We had meetings with customers, with whom we discussed our new products, and our line of chips and table games.
What can you tell us about the products that you presented?
We presented for the first time our Paulson 100% plastic cards, is a product that operators were asking us for a while, mainly for poker, a new very competitive and top-quality alternative that has had an excellent feedback. We also presented our B&G, Bud Jones and Paulson chips and new security options. Visitors informed about our RFID technology. We have expanded the use of RFID in casino operations, something that has been very well received.
Which is your opinion about the Argentine industry?
The country has a national industry that corresponds to a developed market with more than 100 full casinos. In Argentina they manufacture live gaming and machines. We offer complementary products to the national offer. But so far, import regulations may prevent the growth both for operators and providers.
Which are your main plans for the following year?
We will keep on supporting our customers in all the markets, with a more complete and competitive offer than ever. The challenge is to keep on developing new products and options that respond to the changing needs and requirements of the operators.
