Chilean casinos expected to grow the most in Latin America

(Chile).- According to the latest study from Global Gaming Outlook, developed by PwC to analyze expectations between 2012 and 2015, sales of Chilean casinos will increase a 19.8% annually, the highest level of all the regional countries comprised at the research (Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela and Chile).

According to the research, this year the Chilean gaming market will reach us$ 581 million. In the next three years, the sector will grow at a 20% annually, boosted by the increment in the income per person together with the new developments.

This way, casinos that operate in such country will commercialize us$ 581 million and it is expected that the amount increases to us$ 765 million for 2015. Due to the increment, Chile will surpass Mexico, which today is the second most relevant country in the business in the region.

This year, it will also leave behind Colombia, which this year will collect us$ 529 million. In 2011 this nation exceeded Chile.

Although Chilean sustained growth, it is still far from the first Latin American casino market: Argentina, which generates around us$ 2,600,000 and it is expected that in the next three years it will exceed the us$ 3,500 billion.

Besides, Venezuela is the country in which casinos generate less revenues: they just generate us$ 4 million.

The study forecasts that in 2015 the business in Latin America will reach us$ 5.6 billion. This year it will reach us$ 4.37 billion.

"In Latin America, the growth of the per capita income will boost the increment in expenses related to entertainment,” points the analysis, and highlights that the region will be the second with more annual growth  -8,1%- after Asia Pacific, which will raise 18.3%.

Although in US the business will grow at a lower rate, the nation will continue reporting the best numbers worldwide: it concentrates the 42% of the turnover of the sector globally.

In 2012, it will generate us$ 62.3 million while in 2015 it will reach us$ 73.3 million. It is followed by the Asia Pacific zone with a collection of more than us$ 58 billion. In fact, the report predicts that, in the following three years, this area will surpass North America, reaching sales by us$ 79,26 billion.
