Casinos look at Siamese baccarat tables in Macau

(Macau).- Baccarat live gaming tables featuring two boards and able to sit up to double the number of players typically found at a “normal” baccarat table, are being used in casinos to boost their capacity. This is a way to increase the number of seats at the casinos while still complying with the government’s 5,500-table cap, Business Daily reported.
The baccarat rules in Macau state that one baccarat table unit can have “one or two boards, with seven or more seats”.
The ‘Siamese’ gaming tables can generally seat up to 18 players instead of the regular nine, although they need two croupiers to operate them.
One source told Business Daily that ‘Siamese’ gaming tables are not a novelty in Macau, having also been used during the pre-gaming liberalisation period.
