Boyd Gaming completes acquisition of Kansas Star Casino’s operator

(US).- The Kansas Star Casino officially has a new operator. Las Vegas-based Boyd Gaming this morning announced that it has completed its acquisition of Dubuque, Iowa-based Peninsula Gaming, which has operated the Kansas Star since its opening last December.

Boyd’s acquisition of Peninsula was announced in May. The deal was valued at about us$ 1.45 billion. Peninsula also operated two casino in Iowa and two in Louisiana that Boyd has taken over. In Kansas, Boyd will operate the Kansas Star on behalf of the state lottery.

Boyd now owns and operates 22 properties in Nevada, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. It will co-finance 46% of a total budget of 500,000 euros.
