Las Vegas-based Stations Casinos revealed the deal as part of its financial results for the third quarter of 2012 and stated that the purchase is expected to be complete ‘by the end of November’ and will see it take control of 50.1 percent of Fertitta Interactive.
Based in Oakland, California, Fertitta Interactive purchased the assets of online gaming solutions firm CyberArts Licensing in October of 2011 and recently launched its Ultimate Gaming brand, which provides real-money iGaming titles along with social and digital entertainment products to players around the globe.
“This technology represents one of the few established online poker platforms in the world that has never taken wagers from a jurisdiction in which such wagers were illegal,” said Marc Falcone, Executive Vice-President and CFO for Station Casinos.
“It is critically important to us that we own the technology, which allows us to control the perpetual innovation cycle. We are one of the only United States gaming companies to develop and own its technology. We are excited about the possibilities that Ultimate Gaming presents and believe this creates a long-term value driver for Station Casinos.”
