(US).- An executive of Caesars Entertainment says voter approval of table games like blackjack in Maryland will mean about 500 more jobs at a casino the company plans to build in Baltimore.

John Payne, president of Caesars, said Thursday the casino also will be upgraded to the company's Horseshoe-brand casino, with roughly us$ 25 million more for interior upgrades. Because table games will be allowed, the number of jobs at the casino will rise from about 1,200 to 1,700.

Caesars is aiming to start building the casino next year and open it in 2014. The casino is authorized to have 3,750 slot machines. Payne also says the casino will have a World Series of Poker room. It also will have between 80 and 110 table games like blackjack, roulette and craps.
