Gross incomes increased compared to same period of 2011

Chilean casino industry grew a 17% in September

(Chile).- The Casino Superintendence informes that, during September, the 17 casinos in operation generated gross gaming incomes (win) of us$ 51.8 million and received 610,804 visitors, which spent an average of us$ 83 each.

(Chile).- The Casino Superintendence informes that, during September, the 17 casinos in operation generated gross gaming incomes (win) of us$ 51.8 million and received 610,804 visitors, which spent an average of us$ 83 each.

Besides, the 17 local councils and 11 regional governments have to recieve a total of  us$ 8,6 million per specific gaming tax and the state us$ 3.6 million in income tax. Operating societies also generated us$ 8.3 million in VAT gaming concept.

Compared to last month, the gross gaming income decreased a 3.3%, because in August the win was us$ 53.6 million and in September of us$ 51.8 million. The number of visits decreased a 0.3% approximately (of 612,549 visits to 610,804 visits), and the average expense per visit decreased a 4.3% (of us$ 87 to us$ 83).

If the results of September 2012 with September 2011 are compared, it is noted that gross incomes have increased a 17,2% -from us$ 44.2 million to us$ 51.8 million, the number of visits in 13.7% –from 537,000 to 610,804- and the average expense per visit in 1.2% (of us$ 82 to us$ 83).

Of the total of us$ 51.8 million of gross gaming incomes, or win, the five leading casinos are: Monticello Grand Casino with the 26.9% (us$ 13.9 millon), Casino Rinconada 12.6% (us$ 6.5 million), Marina del Sol 12.3% (us$ 6.4 million), Enjoy Antofagasta 9.7% (us$ 5 million), Dreams Temuco 7,1% (us$ 3.7 million).

Complying with the norm established by SCJ for the games of chance, of bringing jackpots no less to 85% of the amount bet in the total of the possible combination of plays, the 9,233 games of chance machines operating during September delivered an average of 93.4% of return as players’ jackpot. While the total amount bet increased to us$ 636.2 million, the win in games of chance machines for the 17 casinos was of us$ 42 million, which means that the jackpots won by players reached us$ 594.3 million.

With September results, the casino industry has generated in 2012 a total of us$ 435.3 million in gross gaming income, representing a 12,5% more compared to the same period in 2011 –us$ 386.9 million; the number of visits has also increased in 8.2% -from 4,865,166 to 5,264,373 and the average expense per visit increased a 7.4%- from us$ 78 to us$ 83.
