How do you evaluate your participation at G2E?
G2E was a very successful show for us, with an exceptional level of important meetings with major machine manufacturers. This is our second G2E show since establishing our own operation in Las Vegas and very pleased with the results over the last year and at this year’s show. We had a strong contingent of Quixant colleagues on the stand, and were joined by representatives from AMD’s embedded division who were on hand to discuss their current products and demonstrate their focus on gaming.
The feedback we received was immensely positive on the new QXi-4000, which we formally launched at G2E: it occupies a sweet spot in terms of price and performance for many markets. The unrivalled horsepower and 10-screen capability offered by the QX-40 also attracted significant interest.
What are the main characteristics of the products that you have presented?
We demonstrated our flagship product, the QX-40, launched to the market in May on the same day AMD launched the Embedded R-Series APU chipset. The QX-40 has achieved significant traction in the market, supported by its high level of performance and integration, unrivalled PCI Express based gaming hardware, and multi screen graphics capabilities.
Also on display was the new addition to the Quixant’s family of all-in-one solutions, the QXi-4000. Based on the ground breaking AMD Embedded R-Series APU technology, it is capable to driving up to four screens but is a compact all-in-one fan-less solution offered at an incredibly competitive price point.
Both of these platforms leverage the latest DisplayPort 1.2 which includes MST technology which enables daisy-chaining of multiple displays from a single DisplayPort connector. This allows a single cable to the cabinet door to drive multiple display devices, providing simplified and more flexible cabinet design.
We also demonstrated our new range of DisplayPort monitors. These monitors, which are designed specifically for gaming, are the first displays to support MST daisy-chaining and also boast LED backlighting. They are available in a wide range of form factors.
How did the visitors respond?
The feedback from visitors to the stand was very positive. We had representatives on hand from all of Quixant’s worldwide offices in UK, USA, Italy and Taiwan. Customers and prospects were able to meet members of our sales team, as well as members of the engineering team directly responsible for design and manufacture of Quixant’s product range. This enabled far richer and more in-depth meetings to take place.
Our products continue to attract a range of customers in different geographies. Quixant’s philosophy to offer cohesive, complete gaming platforms resonates strongly with the challenges faced by customers in an increasingly complex technical and regulatory environment in gaming.
What does the US market represent for your company?
The US market is very important to Quixant, as demonstrated by our investment in our Las Vegas facility and people. We have grown this office strongly over the last year, introducing dedicated local sales and engineering expertise to support our US customer base. We have plans for further expansion and investment in the US in 2013.
What are your main plans for the short term?
Quixant continues to invest heavily in R&D to ensure its gaming platforms are the best available in the market. As we grow our book of customers, we are also strengthening the customer support team. In the last few months, we have hired 4 additional software engineers in our customer support centre in Italy. We are also heavily investing in back office elements of the business to ensure customers receive a slick process all the way from first contact to delivery of product.
