The new rules were released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau and came into effect on February 10. Because of the need for reprogramming of some of the machines already on Macau gaming floors, manufacturers were given a grace period until the end of September to make their equipment compliant.
“The principal objectives of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau with regard to gaming machines operating in the Macau market are to ensure that the games they offer are fair, that the machines are secure, have reliable functionality and are efficiently auditable,” the regulator says.
