Also in attendance at the conference will be MGC Commissioners Gayle Cameron and Enrique Zuniga. Chairman Crosby and Commissioners Cameron and Zuniga will attend multiple seminars on topics such as: Protecting the Player: Regulations and Technology; International Action: Regulatory Innovation around the World; Casino Design Technology: The Impact on Architecture and Construction; Getting Organized: Labor Law and Unionization; Online Certification: Ensuring Integrity and the National Center for Responsible Gaming: A Model for Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care from a National Perspective.
Chairman Crosby stated, “The Massachusetts Gaming Commission welcomes this important opportunity to learn from the industry’s most seasoned veterans and established innovators. I’m also pleased to be able to represent Massachusetts on a panel to highlight our unique and ground-breaking gaming legislation unlike no other in the areas of local municipality control, criteria to address problem gambling and consolidation of law enforcement.”
Commissioner Gayle Cameron stated, “MGC is at a critical juncture in the licensing process as we are set to begin the background investigations to identify the most suitable gaming applicants for Massachusetts. A crucial part of that process is to develop solid and cooperative working relationships with regulators in other jurisdictions to maximize our efficiency in data and intelligence sharing, which is crucial to the success of a thorough and comprehensive investigation. I look forward to having the opportunity to meet many of my counterparts both domestic and international to forge important relationships that will ultimately enhance our effectiveness as regulators.”
Commissioner Enrique Zuniga stated, “As we diligently pursue the successful introduction of expanded gaming to the Commonwealth, we continue to aggressively gather information and facts that will inform the Commission’s decision-making, which will include the implementation of the gaming industry’s most promising practices. I’m happy to have this opportunity to gain valuable insight which will inform the future of our process.”
Chairman Crosby and Commissioners Cameron and Zuniga look forward to sharing a public report on the information learned and insights gained as a result of their attendance at the conference. Also the public is encouraged to connect with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission on twitter @MassGamingComm for frequent live updates, reports and photos from the conference floor and various seminars.
