The deal marks the expansion of Spielo International’s VLT presence in Canada. The firm was successfully chosen as one of three VLT vendors when Manitoba Lotteries made the strategic decision to implement a multiple vendor platform in their distributed network. While Spielo International is the incumbent systems provider in Manitoba, this contract represents the installation of the company’s first VLTs in the province.
Beginning in late 2012, Spielo International will provide approximately 2,000 prodiGi Vu terminals, as well as associated games, in Manitoba. Each prodiGi Vu will be loaded with eight games at delivery. It will provide two game refreshments of two games each in 2013 and 2014, for a total of 12 games. The contract also gives Manitoba Lotteries an option to purchase additional game refreshments.
“The award in Manitoba is an important achievement for our company. Of the lotteries in Canada offering VLT programs, Spielo International now counts all of them as machine customers,” said Walter Bugno, President and CEO of Lottomatica Group’s business unit, Spielo International.
“Manitoba Lotteries is interested in diversifying the VLT mix in our province in order to provide Manitobans with the best games in the market,” said Winston Hodgins, President and CEO of Manitoba Lotteries. “We recognized the performance of Spielo International’s VLTs and games in other markets, and the ability to receive more frequent product updates was a critical aspect that the successful vendors, including Spielo International, are providing.”
On the systems side, Manitoba Lotteries will use Intelligen central system to monitor all of Manitoba Lotteries’ approximately 6,000 VLTs. The system is expected to be installed in late 2012. The contract may be extended for up to an additional five years, subject to the agreement of the parties. The system will include capability for the following value-added applications: Advanced Business Intelligence, Distributed Game Management, and Progressives.
“Spielo International is delighted to provide its state-of-the-art Intelligen central system to MLC, a valued customer since 2006,” continued Bugno. “Intelligen was developed to respond to the unique needs of distributed VLT customers, and with its open-standard interfaces, it will enable Manitoba Lotteries to manage its gaming program efficiently and effectively today, and in the years to come.”
“We chose Spielo International’s Intelligen solution because we believe that its proven reliability, integrity, and ease of management is the best solution for our program’s needs,” concluded Hodgins.
