New us$ 24 million Bahamas casino expects to open by year's end
The casino will mark Genting's return to the Bahamas. In 1986, the company developed the Lucayan Beach Resort and Casino in Freeport, in a joint venture with the Bahamian government. The 10,000-square-foot Bimini casino will offer table games, slots and sports betting.
Resorts World will be the only casino on Bimini and the closest offshore casino to South Florida, 30 minutes away by air and 2.5 hours by boat.
Bimini Bay Resort & Marina is a master-planned oceanfront resort community of 480 homes and villa suites, the largest yacht marina in the Bahamas, four restaurants, two pools, a shopping village, tennis, kids' play center and a beach club. The resort will close for its seasonal upgrade from September 30 to November 15.
Upgrades include refurbishing three restaurants; construction of Casa Miranda, a new cigar bar lounge; and improvements to pool and beach amenities.
