(US).- Pinnacle Entertainment will invest up to us$ 290 million in the Cincinnati gaming market, with most of the money going to the River Downs race track in Anderson Township, the company told investors last week.

An investor presentation, filed September 12 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, says the company will invest us$ 10 million in its Belterra Casino Resort & Spa property in Switzerland County. The money will fund improvements to its 608-room hotel, casino and buffet. Its Aquarium restaurant will be replaced by a Stadium Sports Bar & Grill.

At River Downs, the company predicted it would spend between us$ 250 million and us$ 280 million over multiple phases. The first phase is expected to begin by September 30 and be completed by the end of 2013. It will add 1,250 video lottery terminals, food and beverage outlets and at least 1,400 parking spaces. In July, the company told investors that it might build restaurants and a hotel on the River Downs site as part of a multiphase expansion.

The Ohio Lottery Commission is reviewing a license application for the VLT facility at River Downs. Anderson Township’s planning and zoning director said the company has a meeting planned with several Hamilton County departments on Wednesday. The meeting is aimed at reviewing zoning and building requirements for the project, said Paul Drury, Anderson’s director of planning and zoning.
