(US).- The AGA announced that its Global Gaming Women (GGW) initiative will host several marquee events at Global Gaming Expo 2012, the annual gaming trade show organized by the AGA and Reed Exhibitions. GGW was created by the AGA to support the development and success of women in the international gaming industry through education, mentorship and networking opportunities.

At noon on Tuesday October 2, renowned BBC America journalist Katty Kay will be the featured speaker during an exclusive GGW luncheon. Following her, G2E 2012 keynote remarks, registered luncheon attendees will hear Kay discuss her best-selling book, Womenomics: Write Your Own Rules for Success. In Kay’s writing, she provides a fresh perspective on the largely hidden power that women have in today's marketplace-pointing out, for instance, that among other benefits, companies with more women managers are more profitable.

On Wednesday, October 3 from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m., GGW will host a networking breakfast and roundtable discussion featuring some of the industry's top female executives. Moderated by Virginia McDowell, president and CEO of Isle of Capri Casinos, the panel will include Katie Lever, general counsel and executive vice president for Shuffle Master, Kim Sinatra, general counsel and secretary of Wynn Resorts, and others. The executives will share their insights and answers questions about their approaches to communication and networking, work-life balance and getting ahead in a male-dominated industry. In addition to the group discussion, the breakfast will provide attendees with an opportunity to network with other women in the international gaming industry.

The fee to attend the luncheon is us$ 45 and the breakfast us$ 35. Registration details for both GGW events are available on the GGW website at www.globalgamingwomen.org. Registration for G2E is not required to attend either event.

In addition to the luncheon and breakfast, GGW will host three conference sessions on Wednesday, October 3 as part of the three-day G2E Conference Program. In a session titled “Guiding Light: Building Successful Mentorships,” from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m., successful executives from across the gaming industry will discuss what being a mentor means to them, what they are looking for in—and how they have been approached by—potential mentees, as well as what exactly has made those relationships last.

Another session, titled “He Said, She Said: Gender Differences in the Workplace,” from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., will explore how men and women operate differently in the workplace, delving into the core disparities and how they affect business fundamentals such as leadership style, teamwork and networking.

At “From Big Talk to Big Change: Adjusting Corporate Cultures,” from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., a variety of experts responsible for successfully expanding opportunities for women in business will discuss how to create more inclusive work environments and the challenges of instituting cultural change at companies.

Conference sessions are open to all registered G2E conference attendees, male or female. To register for the G2E conference program, visit www.globalgamingexpo.com.
