Defenders of Adelson project argue that the construction of this project will attract tourism (77%), generate employment (85%), will boost investments (64%) and will strengthen the image of the region and a tourist destination (43%).
On the contrary, people that are against the US complex consider that it will generate social problems such as crime or insecurity (69%), will damage the image of the region as tourist destination (55%), will atract low-quality tourism (44%) and will cause more expenses than revenues (38%).
On the other hand, Madrid has been chosen by the 46% of the interviewees as the city in which Eurovegas should be built, compared to a 30% which prefer Barcelona, and a 24% that is indifferent to the issue
Recently, Las Vegas Sands demanded the registration of the “Europa Vegas” brand before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OAMI), which is the European registration of Trade Marks and Designs.
The registration petition was held in February with an application of community brand including all the spheres that the mega-complex known so far as Eurovegas plans to include, from commerce and games of chance to the organization of shows, congresses and hotel and restaurant services.
In the document, it is also requested within the “Europa Vegas” brand, the sale of “cigars, cigarettes and smoking accessories,” in line with the fact that Adelson facilities in Spain may count with closed spaces in which smoking is allowed, which is not permitted by the anti-tobacco law so far.
