“We would like to sincerely thank all of the team members in Swansea who have shown such loyalty and dedication to Aspers, said Noble, who added: "We would also like to thank all of our customers, who we have thoroughly enjoyed serving over the last five years."
Swansea was one of eight locations to be awarded a small casino licence under the 2005 Gambling Act. Aspers opened in the city in 2007.
Announcing the consultation process in May, the company said that a lack of progress in awarding the city’s small licence had prompted the company to reevaluate its business.
The small licence, it said, would have made the business more viable.
According to local media, a number of the casino’s staff will be redeployed at Aspers’ Westfield Stratford City casino in London.
