“We appreciate the hard work Scientific Games has done to receive GLI certification and the Acceptance Certificate, and we look forward to the roll-out of video gaming in Illinois,” said Mark Ostrowski, Administrator for the Illinois Gaming Board. The Illinois Gaming Board awarded the contract for the Video Central Communication System to Scientific Games in December 2011.
The GLI certification confirms that the central system is in compliance with the standards set forth in the Illinois Gaming Board’s Video Gaming Act and the state’s FY10 solicitation document. Experts at GLI test and evaluate electronic gaming equipment against the standards established by regulators in gaming jurisdictions worldwide.
“Scientific Games is pleased to receive acceptance of our Central Communication System as scheduled,” said Brennen Lawrence, Vice President of Video Gaming for Scientific Games. “The certification ensures the integrity and security of the system, which is a powerful tool necessary to regulate gaming activity, evaluate financial positions and collect revenue to fund crucial capital construction in the state of Illinois.”
The Illinois Central Communication System technology is designed to provide real-time communication and control between every licensed video gaming terminal in the state. Scientific Games currently manages over 90,000 video gaming terminals in nearly 5,600 video gaming locations globally.
