I-Core is a powerful and versatile technical platform used by MDI for a range of interactive activities, including MDI’s Properties Plus player rewards program and Points for Prizes online store. It will be used as the platform for most of the 2nd Chance Websites built and managed by MDI for lottery customers in the future.
With the I-Core platform and MDI’s Easy Entry ticket validation system in place, Vermont Lottery players no longer have to mail in their entries for 2nd Chance drawings. Instead, players will be able to enter numbers from non-winning tickets directly onto the Lottery’s 2nd Chance Website and instantly be entered into drawings and other promotions.
Scientific Games acquired I-Core through its purchase of substantially all of the assets of GameLogic. in 2010. The MDI Interactive team then fine-tuned it to serve as the platform for the entire portfolio of MDI internet services. “I-Core has been a great asset in the development and management of our Properties Plus player loyalty program and affiliated 2nd Chance Websites and with Vermont, we’ve set a new standard for the 2nd Chance Websites we create outside of the program,” said Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. “I-Core enables us to supply all lotteries with the latest technologies available for a secure, streamlined means to most efficiently and effectively give players an enjoyable, meaningful and rewarding online experience.”
The Vermont Lottery also launched a new Play It Again program in June, managed by MDI. Play It Again gives players a second chance to win a game’s last top prize after the on-sale period for the game ends. This program enhances the play value of games and provides added sales opportunities for lotteries.
Specially marked Vermont Lottery instant tickets will be eligible for both 2nd Chance drawings and Play It Again drawings. With MDI’s Easy Entry system, players will need to input a ticket number only once to be entered into both drawings.
“We’re excited about the launch of this new interactive platform,” said Hadley Melendy, Director of Marketing & Sales for the Vermont Lottery. “Players will be able to enter to win more drawings from the comfort and convenience of their own homes without having to worry about paying for postage or envelopes.”
Since launching the industry’s first 2nd Chance Website in 2001, MDI has created more than 400 websites for 37 North American lotteries. The company’s substantial investments in secure hardware and back office systems has given it the necessary bandwidth to process millions of transactions per day, and the means to store hundreds of millions of entry validation records for active promotions.
