The information was confirmed by Belle vice chairman Willy Ocier to Filipino English-language newspaper Inquirer. Melco Crown will meanwhile be able to revise the project.
“Melco will improve on our design and concepts,” Ocier was quoted as saying.
The partnership with Melco Crown was announced earlier this month. Belle holds one of four licences to operate a casino resort in the new Manila Entertainment City.
Other licence holders include Genting Hong Kong, Philippine port magnate Enrique Razon Jr. and Japanese businessman Kazuo Okada, who was until recently Wynn Resorts’s biggest shareholder.
