One third of locals gamble in Macau

(Macau).- A study by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, commonly known by its Cantonese name Kai Fong, says that 32 percent of adults in Macau gamble.

(Macau).- A study by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau, commonly known by its Cantonese name Kai Fong, says that 32 percent of adults in Macau gamble.

Around 40 percent of those who gambled said they did so in casinos, while around one quarter were involved in sports betting, English-language newspaper Macau Post Daily reported.

More than 70 percent of those asked, said they want the government to push ahead with responsible gaming provisions. The survey was conducted in Macau. Over 960 valid questionnaires were collected.
