On June 28, in the City of Mendoza representatives of the titular organizations of the state lotteries in Argentina (Association of Lotteries, Sports Lotteries and State Casinos, ALEA), Uruguay (National Direction of Lotteries and State Lotteries) and Bolivia (LONABOL), and signed a deal to boost the creation of a space of interchange in the administration.
This connection is given in the environment of Social Mercosur and considers social, cultural and formative aspects in order to articulate experiences and knowledge around Social Responsibility as key point in the development of public policies oriented to social development.
The document was signed within the Forum “Social Responsibility of Mercosur Lotteries" (organized by ALEA) and the Social Mercosur Summit: “Building integration”, and has been gestated from a long time.
The first boost was given in 2008 by Argentinian representatives during a meeting of Ministers and Authorities of Mercosur, with its proposal of “establishing a mechanism of cooperation and joint work in the social area.”
This work of integration continued strongly during ALEA presidency in the Latin American Corporation of State Lotteries and Betting (CIBELAE), which concluded with the signature of the Statement of Río de Janeiro in October 2011, on the “Latin American identity in the Globalization Process”, in which member lotteries declared “articulating efforts in common” in the region.
Besides, ALEA has been registrating important improvements regarding Corporate Social Responsibility, a process that aims to be performed in an articulated way, oriented to deepen the social destiny of gaming together with other activities oriented to equity and development.
