(US / UK).- After having its application for an interactive gaming licence approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission last week, British betting giant William Hill has finalised its acquisitions of American Wagering Incorporated, Brandywine Bookmaking and the racing and sportsbook assets of Sierra Development Company for a total of approximately us$ 53 million.

London-based William Hill has approximately 2,350 betting shops throughout the UK and released a short statement last week confirming that it had completed the purchases, which were first announced in April and May and had been contingent on it receiving an online gambling licence in Nevada.

Brandywine, which employs around 90 people, runs 16 sportsbooks in Nevada under the Lucky’s brand alongside one on the Caribbean island of St Kitts. In addition, it is the exclusive odds-maker for the Delaware State Sports Lottery, which it operates in partnership with American lottery technology provider Scientific Games Corporation.

For their part, Sierra Development trades as Club Cal-Neva and offers sportsbetting services in Nevada while American Wagering is the parent company behind the western state’s independent Leroy's Sportsbook.
