New Chairman for Missouri Gaming Commission

(US).- The Governor of the Midwestern state if Missouri, Jay Nixon, has selected Barrett Hatches to take over from James Mathewson as Chairman for the Missouri Gaming Commission regulator.

(US).- The Governor of the Midwestern state if Missouri, Jay Nixon, has selected Barrett Hatches to take over from James Mathewson as Chairman for the Missouri Gaming Commission regulator.

Hatches currently serves as a member of the Missouri Gaming Commission, which enforces statutes and regulations related to the state’s charitable bingo and riverboat gambling, after being appointed by the Governor to a three-year term in April of 2010 in addition to working as President for business consultancy Hatches Consulting in Kansas City.

Mathewson stepped down at the end of last month while Hatches has also previously served as Chief Operating Officer for Swope Community Enterprises, which includes the non-profit Swope Health Services health system, and community development corporation Swope Community Builders.

From 1978 to 1992, Hatches worked for Santa Fe Railroad including as a special agent handling criminal investigations involving the company and its employees and has also served as President and Chief Executive Officer for Northern Indiana Public Service Company and Enstar Natural Gas in Alaska before leaving to act as Field Services Director for Missouri Gas Energy.
