DRGT registers first success for Konami in Germany

Saarland Spielbanken are a group of casinos in the German state called Saarland. The Saarland is situated in southwest Germany and borders with France and Luxembourg. The group operates seven casinos in Saarbrücken, Neunkirchen, Schloss Berg, Glückspilz, Ludwigspark, Homburg and Saarlouis. In total, the main Saarbrücken Casino has approximately 200 slots machines in operation.

Management at the Saarland casinos continually invests to provide their players with the latest gaming entertainment. The main casino at Saarbrücken was extended in December 2008 to include a separate slots room for smokers. A further jewel in this casino’s crown was the opening of the new restaurant called ‘les jeux d’eau’, created by star interior decorator Marcel Garcia from Strasbourg. Furthermore, in November 2009 the group opened a new casino in Neunkirchen that houses over 200 slot machines.

Erik Philippi is the Senior Slots Manager for this casino group and attended the recent Slot Summit in Hanover. He signaled his active interest in Konami Gaming and so Konami slots are now on offer to players at the main casino of the group at Saarbrücken. Players can enjoy the games mixture as video (African Diamond and Egyptian Eyes in the Podium cabinet) and stepper (Vibrant 7s in the Advantage5 cabinet).

Philippi comments, “It is our duty to offer our players the right gaming mixture. Naturally we are aware of the successes Konami is enjoying internationally and now that they have a local partner with DRGT, this is the right time for us to place their slots in our casinos. The results show us already after several weeks in operation that players have embraced Konami slots. We have already decided to further increase the number of Konami slots on the casino floor”.

The Saarland Spielbanken is the first casino group to site Konami slots in Germany.
