MGM Resorts International joins Leap Forward

PiP technology allows gaming operators to take over all, or a portion, of a gaming machine’s video screens so that they may present games, media content, interactive bonusing events, directed marketing messages and applications to players. By providing these services in a secondary picture on the video screens, game play is not interrupted.

The pIPP provides licenses to patents that enable PiP functionality and the highly desired applications that operators want to run with this enhanced ability. Effective immediately, licenses to MGM’s US patent number 5,971,271 entitled “Gaming device communications and service system” are available exclusively through the pIPP licensing program.

In addition to the exclusively licensed MGM PiP patent, the pIPP includes exclusively licensed patents from technology provider Gaming Technology Group (GTG), as well as LFG’s own PiP patents, and currently includes US patents 5,971,271; 6,379,246; 8,083,592; 8,088,014 and 8,133,102. Non-exclusive licenses are available on affordable terms to any manufacturer or operator that has offered, or is planning to offer, PiP capabilities.
