(UK).- iGaming software supplier OpenBet Technologies has announced that betting exchange and online casino operator Betfair has chosen to utilise its technology for the provision of fixed-odds gaming. It has decided to enter the fixed-odds sector for the first time with help from OpenBet’s underlying sportsbook technology.

“This is another example of how OpenBet works with its customers to enhance their overall product offering,” said David Loveday, CEO for OpenBet. “After many years of working together, OpenBet is proud to be part of Betfair's biggest innovation since it was first launched.”

This agreement continues a relationship that Betfair and OpenBet have enjoyed since 2008 when the software supplier was chosen to provide the operator with the technical infrastructure for its Betfair Arcade offering. Last year saw Betfair opt for OpenBet’s business-to-business back-end platform to manage its mobile sportsbetting capabilities.

“We have had a long and productive relationship with OpenBet and it was a logical partner to work with to introduce a fixed-odds betting element to our offering,” said Ian Chuter, Group Operations Director for Betfair. “Our next-generation sports product will complement our exchange and enable us to offer competitive prices on markets that previously we were unable to offer or were only very illiquid. Our customers will now have no reason to bet anywhere else.”
