(UK).- Brooks Pierce, who was responsible for business development, has resigned with immediate effect to Sportech, in order to “pursue other business interests." In a statement, the board thanks Pierce for his “contribution to the business in recent years and wishes him well for the future."

Sportech is the owner and operator of The New Football Pools service. After releasing an interim management statement late last week in which it stated that its financial performance over the previous four months had been ‘in line with the board’s expectations’, pool and tote betting supplier has announced that Brooks Pierce has resigned as its North America Business Development Director.

In recent months the company's North American business has benefitted from a number of promotions, namely Dave Haslett, Ted Taylor and Andrew Gaughan to managing director of Sportech Racing (Worldwide), Sportech Venues and Sportech Interactive Products and Services respectively.

Andrew Gaughan has agreed to also take on the role of business development director, North America. Mickey Kalifa remains as corporate development director for Sportech. In March 2012, Sportech appointed executive search business Odgers Berndtson to seek suitable candidates to further augment the company’s executive directors in order to take advantage of the many opportunities available in North America.
