(Spain).- Orenes Group aims to achieve one of the licenses that the central Administration will grant, through the General Direction of the Gaming Regulation, and so it will be able to dedicate itself to online betting in the country.

The government has established a selection process and has received more than fifty applications from companies that seek for profitability when operating this business, among them, Orenes.

The applicants are waiting the licenses to be granted, something that, in theory, should have happened at the beginning of this year. However, the approval of a six-month moratorium in order to introduce modifications in the penalty regime of the Gaming Law has motivated the delay.

“We are waiting to receive the authorization and this, in theory, has to be solved before June 30, although it is not known if a new extension is set in order to start operating with the new licenses”, commented Enrique Carballido, Commercial Director of Orenes Group.

If the license demanded is obtained, the company will open a specific web page in order to attend the existing demand, and will inaugurate traditional venues, as it happens in UK.

According to the official site of Orenes, sportsbooks are “a new strategic business unit” in which “they have started working”. The firm signed a collaboration agreement with Codere to open gambling centers specialized in sportsbooks, both in the country and abroad. The aim is to open 120 offices dedicated to this business in the future.
