The position of Customer Advocate is new to NEWave, and is designed to even further improve communication between NEWave and its hundreds of casino customers across North America. In her new position, Slak’s primary responsibility will be to interact with all NEWave clients to ensure their systems were properly implemented, that the systems are performing at maximum potential, and that NEWave is meeting all customer needs.
Slak has an extensive background and perfect blend of qualifications for the Customer Advocate position. She brings more than 20 years of casino experience to NEWave’s customers, with expertise in cage/credit operations and in corporate training/development. The combination creates a perfect situation for Slak to understand the systems and human sides of the Customer Advocate position.
NEWave Chief Executive and Technology Officer Bart Lewin explained the new position. “Karen will use her extensive experience to act as a crucial liaison between NEWave and our clients, helping both parties navigate the waters of customer relationships and technology. We are absolutely confident that Karen’s broad range of gaming operations experience will make her an incredibly valuable asset to NEWave and to our clients.”
Slak expressed her enthusiasm for her position. “NEWave is a solid company with solid products, and I have used their software for years in my many roles in cage/credit. Now I am excited that I will have the opportunity to play an active role in ensuring clients make the most of NEWave’s products, and to advocate for clients from my view as a long-term client.”
Most recently, Slak served as Cage Operations Manager for AVI Casino and Resort in Laughlin, Nevada, where she successfully decreased cashier variance and decreased cashier audit exceptions.
Previously, she served as General Manager of Doc Holiday Casino in Central City, Colorado; Director of Slots at Isle of Capri in Blackhawk, Colo.; as Slot Manager for Players Casino (Harrah’s) in Metropolis, Ill.; Cage/Credit Manager for Argosy Empress Casino in Joliet, Ill.; Cage Manager at Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis, Ill.; and as Cage Manager/Casino Manager for Glory Hole Casino in Central City, Colo.
On the training/development side, she has served as Corporate Training and Development Manager for Ken Templeton Investments; as Corporate Training and Development Manager for Harrah’s Entertainment; as Training Specialist for New Wave Automation; and as Property Training Manager for Harrah’s Casino in Metropolis, Ill.
She has also served as an independent consultant for a wide range of casinos in the Blackhawk/Central City marketplace.
