The MGM resort group that has already started lobbying city hall for the opportunity to build a massive entertainment complex. Local lobbyists have been hired by MGM resorts who own or operate huge, opulent, hotel-casino-entertainment complexes in Las Vegas, throughout the United States and the Asian island of Macau.
The gambling part could be just 10% of a multi-billion-dollar investment by MGM resorts international, who The Globe and Mail reported has visited Toronto recently and has hired the local Sussex Strategy Group to lobby on its behalf.
And speaking of Nevada, "Show Girls," the world famous "bunny ranch" brothel has been operating legally out in the desert since 1955 and its owner Dennis Hof told The Toronto Sun that he is very interested in a "bunny ranch branch" for Toronto, now that the courts have struck down the bawdy house laws.
Hof said he wants a downtown location with good parking. There are five bunny ranches in Nevada and there's talk of expanding to Amsterdam.
