Unibet recently purchased Australian independent online corporate bookmaker Betchoice Corporation Party Limited for us$ 21.5 million while November saw it pay us$ 7.6 million in order to take control of French operator Solfive SAS, which is the firm behind the EurosportBet and EurosportPoker brands.
Nordic Betting trades as Bet24 and operates the Bet24.com and Bet24.dk sportsbetting domains with Unibet stating that the transaction will strengthen its ‘market position in the recently regulated Danish market’ and provide ‘additional scale to support further investment to grow market share’.
“Unibet intends to migrate customers and rebrand the business from Bet24 to Unibet as well as integrating the business operations in due course,” read a statement from Unibet. “For the present the business will continue to trade normally as Bet24.”
Unibet declared that Nordic Betting had gross winning revenues of approximately us$ 13.8 million for its most recent financial year and that it intends to complete the purchase, which will also see about 45 employees transferred into its Maltese operations, before the conclusion of the second quarter of 2012 ‘subject to regulatory clearance’.
