"Matt is a seasoned lottery professional with strong leadership skills," said Patel. Whalen began his career at Gtech in 1994 and has worked in various technology, engineering, and management positions. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Global Technology Solutions. He led Gtech's worldwide customer-facing technology organization and oversaw all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, software development, implementation, customer acceptance, and ongoing software services. He and his team recently completed a record number of conversions and integration projects for Gtech customers around the world.

"As our lottery customers' products become more ubiquitous, we will offer the industry's best technological solutions to meet the demands of players in today's changing technology environment."
Previously, Whalen served as Vice President, International Technology Solutions, and Vice President, Research and Development. He was responsible for all enterprise architecture development, technology innovation, hardware and network engineering, R&D and product development activities.
Whalen holds a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. He earned an Applied Associate's Degree in Science, with a major in Computer Science, from the State University of New York at Morrisville.
