(US).- Nevada could have its first online poker licence as early as June according to Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli.

The announcement was made last autumn that the panel would re-form with the purpose of the meeting to oversee what could likely be the United States’s first intrastate online poker industry, with key figures from the industry in on the discussions.

Despite this progress, Lipparelli said that the date of the first shuffle is still unknown. Once licenses are granted to bricks and mortar casinos they must produce technology that is approved and rubber stamped before any games can begin.

If successful Nevada could be just the first of many states following similar route, with many watching events in Nevada with an eye to following their example elsewhere.
