The meeting of the Normalization Committee of the Gaming and Draw Industry takes place 22 March at NYCE’s facilities in Mexico City. Manufacturers, operators, associations and government entities are encouraged to attend.
“Over the last four years, we have made great strides in bringing regulatory standards to the Mexican gaming industry, and this meeting will continue our efforts as we build on the firm foundation we have established,” said GLI Development Director for Latin America and the Caribbean Karen Sierra-Hughes.
As required by the industry, the meeting will focus on the review and update of the following standards: NMX-I-126-NYCE-2006 Information Technology – Systems of Electronic Terminals and Drawings, Numbers and Bets (GLI-22); NMX-I-173-NYCE-2008 Information Technology – Cashless Systems in Establishments (GLI-16); NMX-I-191-NYCE-2009 Information Technology – On-line Monitoring and Control Systems (MCS) and Validation Systems in Establishments (GLI-13); and NMX-I-209-NYCE-2009 Information Technology – Gaming Devises in Establishments (GLI-11).
It will be later discussed, the next set of proposed standards defining iGaming and wireless technology. The proposed iGaming standard is based on GLI’s landmark GLI-19 standard, which was released last year. The proposed wireless technology standard is based on GLI’s widely accepted GLI-26.
NYCE has been working on developing NMX standards since 2006, using GLI Standards as a base. To date, 13 NMX standards have been published, based on GLI-11, GLI-12, GLI-13, GLI-16, GLI-17, GLI-18, GLI-20, GLI-21, GLI-22, GLI-24 and GLI-25, and another that is intended to serve as a glossary of terms for the industry throughout the country.
