Galaxy profit tripled in 2011
The company’s Galaxy Macau raked in us$ 979.1 million in revenue in the fourth quarter.
“The [gaming] market will only get larger … we welcome other properties in Cotai,” the company’s chief executive officer Francis Lui Yiu Tung said yesterday, adding that as far as Galaxy Entertainment Group was concerned, “we always ramp up the game, so we’re positioned very well into the future.”
The company also said that it is “well positioned” for phase two of its Cotai project, but didn’t disclose any further details. Galaxy didn’t recommend the payment of a dividend. Meanwhile, the group has established a corporate governance committee, which will be chaired by Lui.
Next week, Galaxy Macau will launch The Pavilion, a new gaming area for the premium mass gaming market. Also next week, Galaxy Macau welcomes the 9th Macau Chinese Film Festival which will be held between March 23 and March 25, and aims to promote the development of Chinese feature films.
Galaxy Macau will officially open its China Rouge members only private club on March 30.
