On the eve of the granting of licenses

Online gambling to be analysed at SiGS 2012 congress

(Spain).- “Online gambling regulation strategy in Spain” is the title of the lecture by Enrique Alejo González, general director for Gambling Regulation which will open the Spanish iGaming Summit (SiGS 2012) congress, to be held at the hotel HUSA Princesa in Madrid on the 27th of March, 2012, organized by the consulting firm JAK Comunicación and elRecreativo.com.

The organisation of the SiGS has set up a website  http://www.spanishigamingsummit.com where you can find the programme and all the necessary information both in English and Spanish about this event which is a continuation of the last one named iGamingSummit2011 held on the 25th of October, 2011. The event will have simultaneous interpreting: from English into Spanish and vice versa.

After the conference of the state regulator, there will be a panel on online gambling within regulated markets including a round table conducted by Norman Heckh, Director of Deloitte Abogados, on the topic of the initiative of the Regional Government of Madrid. Fernando Prats, regional regulator, will also be giving a lecture and conducting a round table involving representatives of Codere and the Casino Gran Madrid, both companies holding online licenses at a regional level.

The last module of the panel on regulation will focus on the new challenges for the industry in Spain as a consequence of the opening to remote gambling, which will be conducted by Santiago Asensi, from the law firm Asensi Abogados, and with the intervention of Albert Agustinoy and Pedro López Martín-Andino, two lawyers specialising in online gambling, along with Heliodoro Giner and Juan José Sánchez-Colilla, specialists in offline gambling.

The second panel online operators like Albin Tiusanen (PAF) or Sascha Badelt (Digidis) will be taking the floor after the lecture by the consultant Mauro de Fabritiis (MAG), while Guido Marino, founding member of MAG, will speak about the combination of online and offline gambling. Right after, Eduardo Antoja, will conduct a round table on offline/online gambling convergence, accompanied by several representatives of Codere, Egasa and the Grupo Orenes.

The third and last panel will aim at analysing technological development, including a lecture by Assen Diakosky (Buongiorno) who will talk about the Wingra case. José Miguel Esteban (R.Franco) will conduct a round table bearing the title of: "Examining technological suppliers" with the intervention of José Miguel Abreu (Betware), and the congress will end up with the round table on security and payment instruments, conducted by Javier Moreno, from PayPal, together with María González (Paysafecard) and Ricardo Martínez (Deloitte).
