(UK).- The world’s largest egaming software suppliers, Playtech, has applied to the Jersey Gambling Commission for a remote gambling licence under the new regulations issued by the island last year.

The bid is a major boost for Jersey’s egaming strategy and follows months of talks between Jersey Enterprise, the island’s Gambling Commission and Playtech, which has included Playtech’s Chief Executive Mor Weizer, during the Jersey business development ‘trade mission’ in May 2011.

Jersey Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean commented: “This application from a market leader is a stamp of approval for our new egaming industry.
