(Macau).- The Chinese New Year holiday started strong in Macau, attracting hundreds of thousands to the gaming floors, Union Gaming Group Macau head Grant Govertsen said in an investors note released yesterday.

“We expect visitation to continue to grow on a sequential basis through Sunday and expect gaming volumes to similarly grow, ending January on a high note and setting the tone for the first quarter and beyond,” Govertsen was quoted as saying by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

He predicts that when the math is all added up revenues for the month of January could break a single month record. The last single month record was in October when revenues reached us$ 3.35 billion.
