Cortes remarked the fact that “IFEMA does not receive any subsidy,” and besides, “it helps improve the economic activity” of the city. He also spoke about the perspectives for this 2013, which will be, in his opinion, the “year in which we will emerge from the crisis.”
Trade events are a barometer of the economy, and perspectives are positive, because sources of IFEMA forecast an increment of professionals and visitors to the exhibitions they have prepared for this present year.
With regard to the internationalization of IFEMA, its President acknowledges that “it is one of the bets that Spain must make”. Although he assures that, for them,”it is not easy”, because the world “is full of British, French and German citizens.”
Cortés discarded that Eurovegas may cause a problem for the company he manages. On the contrary, he said, both can form a “great alliance” and seek for synergies.
