Since MDI first obtained the license for the lottery category in 2002, a total of 19 lotteries have implemented 25 different NBA games. The retail value of tickets printed has topped us$ 300 million, with net proceeds going towards lotteries good causes, including education, environmental programs, public safety, veterans support and senior citizen community centers. Prizes typically include authentic merchandise such as jerseys and basketballs, adding to the appeal of the games for NBA fans

The NBA was the first professional sports league to enter the lottery category, but has been joined more recently by a number of other sports properties including Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Ultimate Fighting Championship and NASCAR.
