“[Beginning next year] only license holders will be permitted to offer poker games and tournaments to Spanish players, significantly reducing the number of games available,” read the statement posted on CaraDePoker.com.
“Only the largest room in the world and in Spain will be able to offer the number of cash tables and tournaments needed to provide a superior experience. We believe that the gaming experience you get at PokerStars.com is infinitely superior to any other offer on the market and the best legacy we can give you.”
CaraDePoker.com began life on the Entraction Poker Network before relocating to the iPoker Network some 18 months ago. The site’s Spanish owners focused entirely on the domestic market while its client list was recently boosted by its affiliation with the local online poker training service at EducaPoker.com.
As part of the relocation of players, points previously earned at CaraDePoker.com are to be converted into PokerStars Frequent Player Points based on a multiplier while new signups will be given a VIP level up to PlatinumStar based on the amount of rake generated recently.
