Buenos Aires reveals figures of city’s casinos

(Argentina).- According to data of the Gaming Institute of the City of Buenos Aires, the slots of the floating casino in Puerto Madero and horse racetrack (racino) collected last year us$ 7.8 billion approximately, a number that excedes the budget of the City of Buenos Aires for 2012. This year, casinos would reach us$ 9.3 billion.

According to the data brought by the Gaming Institute of the City to newspaper Tiempo Argentino, slots of the Palermo horse racetrack and the floating casino collected, during  2010, more money than the budget for the Government of the City for the following year.

Gambling halls in Palermo and Puerto Madero obtained last year an income of us$ 7.8 billion. The 4.992 slots of the racetrack obtained in 2010 a collection of us$ 6.33 billion and paid us$ 6.03 billion in jackpots; while slots of the floating casino received bets for  us$ 1.513 billion and paid us$ 1.439 billion in jackpots.

This year is also prosperous for casinos. According to the Gaming Institute of the City of Buenos Aires, just in the first quarter of 2011, slots already received us$ 2.225 billion in bets and paid jackpots for us$ 2.123,3 billion. If the trend is maintained, by the end of the year, the number would reach us$ 9.346 billion.
