(UK).- Garth Kimber, who is currently contracted to the role of Head of E-Gaming, has decided to return to the private sector and as a result will be leaving his position in December. The process to recruit and appoint a replacement for Garth has already commenced.

The Head of E-Gaming Development post represents a significant role in the future development of the strategic aims of both the Department of Economic Development and the Isle of Man Gaming sector as a whole. The new appointee will continue to promote the industry in conjunction with the private sector, in order to attract new business to the Island whilst at the same time ensuring that those already based on the Island continue to enjoy a business environment optimised for their needs.

John Shimmin, Minister for Economic Development, Isle of Man Government, said: “The role is crucial in protecting and promoting one of our fastest growing industries, with the E-Gaming sector growing by 24 per cent in 2010. Garth Kimber has brought great energy to the position over the past four and a half years, and he will leave large shoes to fill. But we are confident that, as a result of the work he has done, the sector is strong and that we will find the right person to build on the success to date.”
