How have you seen SAGSE?
Ana Silva: The event was very good. There was a lot of traffic although not as much as last year. The quality was also good because we have received the visit from decision-makers. We made contact with potential customers in the region and we are very excited. This is the second year in a row that I visit SAGSE, and I can see the great growth of our industry in Latin America.
What products did you present?
Juan Martín Arias: Together with the people from Wells Gardner, through Selton, we presented monitors, both direct replacements for OEM machines with LCD or retro kits for the replacement of cathode ray tubes by LCD, someting that is pretty in fashion and very well positioned in the market.
What operators have you worked with in Argentina?
Arias: The truth is that we have contact with the great majority of operators in the market.
Which are the main markets of the company in South America?
Ana Silva: We have distributors in Colombia, Peru, Panama, Argentina and Mexico. In Europe, we have also arrived in Spain.
Which is the potential that has still to be developed in Argentina to keep growing as a market?
Arias: I think that sometimes it depends more of a political decisión and that the operators that decide to stop dealing with tubes and with repais that are going nowhere, and finally make them spend more money. Another point is the issue of the assembly: to purchase the PC monitor, on one side, and touch on the other side, to assemble it later. After several months of analysis and discussing prices, we reached to a point in which the assembly is not convenient for customers because the resolution and the quality are not the same, and we have the same values. As a company, we communicate that.
How long have Wells Gardner Electronics Corporation and Selton have been working together?
Arias: More than two years.
What goals have you set in SAGSE?
Silva: To contact new customers and be able to grow in the business and in the country.
In which products have Argentine operators been more interested?
Arias: In both products. Nowadays, there are all the machine lines that were released with LCD; we talk about products from 2003/2004 on, and are already starting to have problems, not because monitors are bad, but because several years of 24/ 7 use have passed. It means that the two things are happening: the replacement of the direct monitor and there are also machines that are still operating with tube.
Which are the goals for 2012?
Arias: The idea for next year is to develop new products together with Wells Gardner in order to comprise all the machines of the market, may be with replacements or retro kits. That is our goal.
