In honoring WMS, the Chicago Tribune noted the company’s ability to attract and retain the best talent with ample benefits, opportunities for advancement, and great facilities that feature a fitness center and cafeteria. The Chicago Tribune also noted how the company’s employees are encouraged to have a life outside of work - one of the reasons they do not want to leave - and the accessibility of Brian Gamache, Chief Executive Officer, who makes himself available to the entire staff through such events as “Bagels with Brian,” where he answers questions and gathers suggestions.
The Chicago Tribune “Top Workplace 2011” list, which featured 100 companies operating within the Chicago metro-area, including WMS, was categorized into size bands: large companies (1000 employees and above), medium (250-999), and small (fewer than 250). Workplace Dynamics of Exton, PA., a workplace specialist, conducted an engagement survey of local Chicago employers with at least 100 employees. Employees responded to a set of statements about their feelings toward the workplace, using a seven-point Likert Scale.
Previously, WMS was recognized as one of the 2011 winners for 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in Chicago and named by Forbes as one of “America’s 100 Best Small Companies” in 2010 due to the company’s outside-the-box approach to product development.
