“Copag is leader in the Latin American casino market”

(Argentina, exclusive Yogonet.com).- Copag was present in SAGSE Buenos Aires together with TCS John Huxley, its distributor for Latin America. In an interview with Yogonet.com, Marta Mateus, Responsible of the Exports Department, talked about obstacles to the imports of certain articles and anticipated that they will launch a project that will combine the product of the company with a service.

How have you seen the show this year and what balance can you make of your participation?
The event was very large and counted with a very interesting level of exhibitors, as any big international show. It is a very important event for us because Copag is leader in the Latin American casino market, and here we have the chance to be face to face with our customers, not just from Argentina. That’s why SAGSE always represents a great chance to gather with them, to know their needs and present products.

How does society operate with TCS John Huxley?
We have been operating with TCS John Huxley for many years. They are our distributors in Latin America. That’s why we have been exhibiting together at the show. We are here to bring technical support, and they are responsible of the commercial part.
 
Which is the potential TCS John Huxley has still has to run in Argentina?
Nowadays, there are problems here due to obstacles to the imports of different types of products, among them, ours. It saddens us because cards are very important for customers to continue with their operations. They cannot work without them. I think it is a backward movement in the evolution of the industry. Gambling halls are using cards that they should have changed for security reasons, for example. We understand that it is a political and economic decision of the country, but our obligation as part of the industry is to seek for solutions, and we are working on that.

Which are the main Copag projects for the following year?
The first one consists of searching for a solution for the imports problem in Argentina. Many customers still have Copag cards in their tables, but they should have changed them already. They are surviving with the products they already have. That’s the main aim. We are about to launch a new project that will be annunced in the following weeks. Right now, I just can anticipate that it is a combination of our product with a service.
